Catawba's Blooming

My inspiration for this new piece is bloom time here in North Carolina for the colorful, Catawba Rhododendron. These native evergreens bloom May through June. A truly breathtaking sight can be found, generally at higher elevations in June when the large blooms blanket the mountainsides in vibrant shades of pink to purple flowers.
